Since 1920, the name Berluto stands for quality and technical excellence in the field of industrial valves. The German company manufactures exclusively in Germany and supplies industrial customers with precisely engineered and durable high-performance products. A key element in our portfolio are adjustable pressure reducing valves made of stainless steel and red bronze. They can be used in a wide range of industrial applications – from the chemical industry to building services – and ensure safety, efficiency and smooth processes.
Berluto develops and manufactures its valves with great care and state-of-the-art technology. The result are high-quality pressure reducing valves that set new standards in reliability, durability and ease of maintenance. Industrial customers benefit from high quality, detailed advice, comprehensive technical expertise and individual support from an experienced team.
The requirements for pressure reducing valves in industry are as diverse as the industries themselves: different media, pressure ranges, flow capacities, temperature ranges, connection options and applications demand a high level of flexibility from the manufacturer. Berluto specialises in exactly this. We offer a wide range of pressure reducing valves for drinking water, salt water, air, neutral gases and other liquids. Pressure ranges extend from a few millibars up to several bars. All models feature an internal impulse line and are available at short notice with different connection types (e.g. male thread, female thread, flange) according to various international standards (DIN, ANSI, JIS) and in different nominal sizes.
But a standard solution is not always enough: in such cases, our in-house R&D department develops pressure reducing valves tailored exactly to your needs. Rapid prototyping is also possible. This results in special solutions for highly specified operating conditions, for example in the food or pharmaceutical industry, in process engineering or in special plant construction. Customers benefit from close technical coordination, fast implementation times and quality made in Germany.
Berluto stainless steel pressure reducing valves are used wherever high standards of hygiene, corrosion resistance and temperature tolerance are required. They are particularly suitable for aggressive media, humid environments and use in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Berluto manufactures a broad range of standard valves for a wide variety of applications.
The stainless steel series 7 and 8 are made entirely of V4A (1.4408, 1.4401). They are especially suitable for demanding media, such as non-flammable gases or liquids, e.g. fully demineralised water and steam; media temperatures may reach up to 200 °C. The EPDM seals comply with relevant European requirements and are FDA compliant. In addition, the integrated inlet pressure relief ensures constant outlet pressure even with strongly fluctuating inlet pressure. To match the respective application, we offer different inlet and outlet pressure ranges, nominal diameters and connection types.
Berluto manufactures its stainless steel pressure reducing valves using state-of-the-art CNC technology and in compliance with relevant standards and directives. This results in products that meet the most demanding industrial requirements – reliable, durable and safe in operation.
Standard and extended range stainless steel pressure reducing valves are suitable for all common applications with an inlet pressure of up to 40 bar, aggressive liquids as well as air and neutral gases when larger flow capacities are required. Depending on your individual application, you can choose between different outlet pressure ranges from 0.5 to 10 bar. Our stainless steel series with EPDM seals complies with the requirements of EU Regulation EC1935/2004 and FDA regulations. The metallic parts in contact with the medium are made of austenitic materials such as 1.4408 and 1.4404. This means that our stainless steel series with EPDM seals can be used without hesitation, including in the secondary sector of the food industry.
Low-pressure stainless steel pressure reducing valves are suitable for applications with inlet pressures of up to 25 bar and outlet pressures from 0.2 to 2 bar, aggressive liquids as well as air and neutral gases when larger flow capacities are required. Thanks to the enlarged control membrane, sensitive control and precise outlet pressure adjustment are possible. These low-pressure variants are ideal for delicate applications that permit only low outlet pressures or where sensitive downstream apparatus or equipment is used. As standard, all low-pressure pressure reducing valves are available with female thread according to ISO 228 and with flanges according to DIN EN 1092. Other connection types such as ANSI, JIS or NPT are available on request.
High-pressure piston pressure reducing valves made of stainless steel are extremely robust. With a maximum inlet pressure range of up to 40 bar and an outlet pressure range of up to 20 bar, this series is suitable for numerous demanding applications. Thanks to the stable piston design, these pressure reducing valves react less sensitively to pressure surges than diaphragm pressure reducing valves, for example. They are also more resistant to critical media. This makes this valve type ideal for use with particularly aggressive media. As standard, high-pressure pressure reducing valves are available with female thread according to ISO 228 and with flanges according to DIN EN 1092. Other connection types such as ANSI, JIS or NPT are available on request.
Soft-seated stainless steel pressure reducing valves for steam applications feature a special combination of resistant elastomers and a maximum inlet pressure range of up to 16 bar with different outlet pressure ranges from 0.3 to 10 bar. This series is especially suitable for use with hot water and steam, but can also be used for aggressive waters and other aggressive liquids. They are also suitable for air and neutral gases when larger flow capacities are required.
These pressure reducing valves were specifically developed for use in the mbar range. The spring-loaded valves are characterised by precise adjustability and very good control behaviour. One field of application is tank blanketing (inerting).
Red bronze is a proven material in industrial valve technology – especially when it comes to water, air and neutral gases. Its properties are similar to brass: it is easy to form, durable and corrosion-resistant. Pressure reducing valves made of red bronze are particularly economical and offer a balanced ratio of price, performance and service life. We offer suitable valves for applications involving water and liquids, drinking water, seawater as well as compressed air and non-flammable gases.
Standard and extended range pressure reducing valves made of red bronze are membrane-controlled, spring-loaded and usually feature inlet pressure compensation. They are suitable for all common applications with an inlet pressure of up to 25 or 40 bar, aggressive liquids as well as air and neutral gases. Depending on your individual application, you can choose between different outlet pressure ranges from 0.5 to 10 bar. Valve seats and housings are made of corrosion-resistant red bronze, spring bonnets of brass, grey cast iron or plastic, and FKM, NBR and EPDM are used as sealing materials.
Red bronze pressure reducing valves for the low-pressure range are membrane-controlled, spring-loaded and feature inlet pressure compensation. They are suitable for all common applications with an inlet pressure of up to 16 or 25 bar, for use with water and neutral, non-adhesive liquids, but can also be used for air and neutral gases when larger flow capacities are required.
High-pressure pressure reducing valves made of red bronze are piston-controlled and spring-loaded. With a maximum inlet pressure range of up to 25, 40 or 60 bar and three outlet pressure ranges from 1.5 to 20 bar, 1.5 to 45 bar and 4 to 12 bar, this series is suitable for numerous demanding applications. Thanks to the stable piston design, these pressure reducing valves react less sensitively to pressure surges than membrane pressure reducing valves, for example. The absence of a membrane also reduces the sealing surface exposed to attack in piston pressure reducing valves. This makes this type of valve ideal for use with particularly aggressive media. As standard, high-pressure pressure reducing valves are available with female thread according to ISO 228 and with flanges according to DIN EN 1092. Other connection types such as ANSI, JIS or NPT are available on request.
Pressure reducing valves — sometimes also called reducing valves, reducing valves or pressure regulators — are fittings that reduce the inlet pressure of a medium to a predefined, adjustable lower outlet pressure. The aim is to ensure a reduced operating pressure and to protect sensitive system components from overpressure. In an industrial context, pressure reducing valves play a central role in the safety, durability and efficiency of systems.
A high-quality pressure reducing valve prevents pressure peaks, reduces the mechanical load on downstream components and ensures a reduced system pressure. Depending on the application, materials, seals and design principles must be precisely matched to the medium and operating conditions. This is exactly where Berluto scores with technical diversity and many years of experience.
