The float valves developed in 1917 by company co-founder Jean Bergner laid the foundation for our company. Even today, more than 100 years later, our technology remains reliable and state of the art. The secret of our success lies in the patented lever translation. Thanks to this mechanism, our valves require less buoyancy force and therefore operate with significantly lower force requirements than other float valves. Berluto float valves withstand high pressures despite short rods and small floats. They are extremely robust, durable and, thanks to their control flap, are highly resistant to harmful contamination.

Our
four series

Our float valves are divided into four series which differ in material and properties. If you are unsure which valve you need, please contact our technical consultants. They will be happy to assist you with expert advice.

For small storage tanks

The small SV series starts with SV 94 made of brass for low flow capacities and pressures (up to 12 bar). The latest member of the series is the SV 45, manufactured entirely from stainless steel (1.4571) and suitable for supply pressures up to 10 bar.

Matching float balls are available for all valves in the SV series, optionally made of Hostalen (PE), copper or stainless steel (V4A).

Compact design (allrounder)

The KSV series is the allrounder in the medium range when SV valves are too small and RSV valves too elaborate. KSV valves made of stainless steel or gunmetal operate with a robust piston control system. Gunmetal float valves of the KSV 10 series are suitable for neutral, non-adhesive liquids. Stainless steel float valves of the KSV 80 series are suitable for aggressive water and other liquids. Nozzles and seals can be replaced easily on all models. By loosening a single bolt, the complete piston can be removed and inspected. In addition, KSV valves are particularly cost-effective and dimensionally compatible with a large number of other industrial float valves. Since the angle of the rod is adjustable and the float can be moved along the rod, the desired liquid level can be set very precisely. Matching floats are available in copper, HDPE or stainless steel (V4A).

For drinking water applications

RSV series float valves are used wherever particularly robust valves are required for high supply pressures and/or high flow capacities. The RSV O series, suitable for drinking water and other neutral, non-adhesive liquids, complies with the strict requirements of the European Drinking Water Regulation and is additionally DVGW certified. These series are therefore ideal for applications that require connection to the drinking water network (e.g. pressure boosting systems, fire protection systems, etc.). Thanks to the special lever mechanism, RSV valves use comparatively short float rods. The seal can be inspected and replaced while installed. The valves are manufactured entirely from brass. Matching floats are available for all RSV valves in copper or stainless steel (V4A); DVGW certification applies only in combination with the matching copper float.

Pipeline valve

The new high-performance float valves of the ESV series are suitable for tank installation as well as pipeline applications involving aggressive liquids, air and gas thanks to the pressure-resistant sealing of the valve bodies. The desired liquid level can be set precisely by moving the float ball on the float rod and adjusting the tab for level control. Due to the lever mechanism design, an ESV float valve requires less buoyancy force and can therefore withstand high pressures with a comparatively short rod. The valves are supplied with different connection configurations.

Level adjustment for
Berluto float valves

The adjustment of liquid levels has become particularly important in many applications today. Increasingly, users require an exact adjustable liquid level. Our float valves allow two types of adjustment: all valves permit repositioning of the float on the rod. In addition, valves in the KSV and ESV series allow angular adjustment of the rod, ensuring highly precise level adjustment.

In addition to these level control methods, we also make individual modifications to adapt the float valve even more precisely to your requirements. For example, the float rod can be shortened or the float can be replaced. Feel free to contact us — together we will find the right solution for you.

What is
a float valve?

A float valve is a mechanically controlled valve that automatically regulates the water level in containers or tanks. It consists of a float that floats on the water surface and is connected to a valve by a lever. When the water level rises, the float rises and closes the valve. When the water level falls, the float drops and reopens the valve so that water can flow in. Float valves are typically used in cisterns, water tanks, livestock drinking systems or cooling systems to ensure a constant fill level and prevent overflow.
