Relief valves
from Berluto
Keep pressure constant

Relief valves protect closed circuits from overload by maintaining a preset pressure at a constant level. Berluto manufactures relief valves in stainless steel and gunmetal for various applications and pressures up to a maximum of 20 bar. What are
relief valves?

Industrial relief valves are safety and control components that maintain the pressure in piping systems or vessels at a defined level. Their main function is to divert part of the medium – usually liquid or gas – in a controlled manner into a relief line when the system pressure becomes too high. In this way, they protect downstream system components from overload or damage.

How do
relief valves work?

relief valves are preloaded with an adjustable spring that presses a valve disc against the flow. As long as the system pressure remains below the set limit, the valve stays closed. If the pressure rises above this value, it overcomes the spring force, the valve disc lifts and the medium can escape. As soon as the pressure falls below the setpoint again, the valve closes automatically. Relief valves operate purely mechanically or in combination with pneumatic or electric actuators, depending on the application. In industry, they are used wherever pressure control, process safety and continuous system operation are essential – for example in pump systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, heating and cooling circuits, or in the chemical and process industries.

  • Relief valves are used to keep the pressure in vessels or pipes at a constant level.
  • They protect downstream system components from overload.
  • If the pressure rises above a defined value, a valve opens through which the incoming medium can escape.

Adjustable angle-type relief valves

Robust, proportional relief valves in gas-tight design. Their compact construction, the possibility of in-house adjustment or conversion within the spring ranges, and the different sealing materials make them true all-rounders in the field of pump protection and bypass control. Direct-acting, spring-loaded angle-type relief valves for steam, gaseous media and liquids. Resistant to oil, unleaded gasoline and benzene.
